We would like to extend a big thank you to Tracey O’Reilly our outgoing coordinator for her years of dedicated effort to SPN, we wish Tracey all the best with her rapidly growing business- Bake my Day.

I have been spending much of my time in the past month meeting with representatives of many organisations and community groups in Selwyn, with the objective of growing the SPN network throughout the Selwyn District. SPN would like to continue to have the opportunity to work alongside others to help strengthen parents and families in our growing communities.

If you know of any individuals, community groups or service providers that provide support to parents and families in Selwyn, I would love to hear from you, my email is enquiries@spn.org.nz or phone 027 336 8071.

In May SPN supported MHERC and the CDHB to provide an informative workshop hosted by Darfield Primary School and presented by clinical psychologist Catherine Gallagher.

Catherine gave insightful and practical advice to a large group of parents and educators on “Understanding and Managing Children’s Anxiety” please see an article Catherine provided us on the night.

SPN is looking forward to planning more of these supportive workshops for the Selwyn District in the coming months, if you have any ideas or suggestions on what would be helpful to families please just let me know.
