The Christchurch Central Development Unit (CCDU) has launched "An Accessible City" - the draft transport chapter of the Central City Recovery Plan. This document focuses on how people travel into and around the city, and how the streets will look as the central city redevelops.

Dedicated play for under 2's hosted by local Playcentres. Meet others with infants of the same age with whom you can share your journey into parenthood! Weekly sessions led by facilitators focusing on learning through sensory play, stories and music in a safe friendly setting. Opportunities to share and learn from each other while gaining confidence in your parenting and building up a strong social network in a supportive environment. Advice is available about Kiwisaver hardship withdrawals, Work and Income, Inland Revenue, Insolvency issues. The service is free, and confidential. Appointments can be made at the office, 191 Blenheim Rd, Christchurch, or advisors can visit clients in their homes including evenings and weekends. Pregnancy Help Inc. Canterbury

Their mission is to provide free and client focused practical assistance, information and advice during pregnancy and early childhood. They currently provide free: newborn baby/toddler & maternity clothing; emergency nappies; free pregnancy tests; baby equipment such as bassinets, highchairs & prams; listening ear, guidance, advocacy; referral onto other relevant organisations; drop in centre for information, advice, advocacy, a place to bring the baby, have a refreshment, rest & discuss concerns. You are welcome to pop in, feed and change baby, have a refreshing cup of tea, coffee or hot choc, have a rest or just have a chat. Youth Website - Address the Stress

New Zealand Red Cross has identified a gap with regard to young people affected by the Canterbury earthquakes and their access to trauma recovery resources. In response they have joined forces with Youthline and some of New Zealand's top musicians, athletes and TV personalities to create an online community with advice and support for youth experiencing hard times.
